New Mac OS X 10.6.4 build continues slow pace of changes
updated 10:45 am EDT, Wed June 9, 2010
Public launch likely before end of June
Apple is seeding another developer build of Mac OS X 10.6.4, 10F566. Arriving a just a week after the last build, 10F564, the new one has grown only modestly in size to reach 613.8MB. Bugfixes continue to be concentrated in several key areas, namely iPhoto, Aperture and DVD Player, as well as input responsiveness, SMB file servers, VPN connections and Creative Suite 3 apps.
Developers are asked to keep concentrating their testing on SMB, VPN, USB, graphics drivers and VoiceOver. No known issues have been identified by Apple. The anticipated final release date remains a mystery, as the company has missed a WWDC keynote window, although there were no new Macs at the time to pair an update with. Refreshes are due for the Mac mini, Mac Pro and MacBook Air.

Sidenote:
I was greatly disappointed in the lack of, at least, news about Macs and Mac OS X. I understand the iPhone and iPad's popularity, but is Apple that "small" as to be unable to properly address one of its main (and original) product lines during its developer conference?
It's one thing to know rumors like a new Mac mini, iMac or Apple TV would not come about, but I would have expected announcements on the Mac OS X Snow Leopard and how it was doing. How about Mac OS X 10.7? What about current applications and services that a long-in-the-tooth like iWorks, iLife and MobileMe?! Is there no development or focus on these areas? What about the Pro apps? Even iPod got little to no discussion (other than iBooks in the Touch).
Somehow, I get the feeling that my investing further time and/or money into any of these products is a waste!!
